BBQ and End of Season Youth Awards Nite (30/08/08)

Our social committee are hosting a BBQ this Saturday evening to co-incide with the end of season awards evening for our youth section. The BBQ will take place after the Parent and Child "Double Wicket Competition" at 6:30 pm.

€12 per head for Steak, Wedges & Salad
€3 per burger

Book your food on the booking form in the Pavilion as soon as you can. The evening will include a raffle and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Senior Cup Back in the Village (30/08/08)

Well done to the ladies on their senior cup win against Pembroke on Friday evening last. A thrilling match to watch and a great win.

MOM of award went to young Eimear Gill of Malahide with her first senior 6 wicket haul. Well done Eimear.

Well done to Cameron Shoebridge on his selection to the Leinster U11 team to play against Ulster U11s in Armagh on August 12th.

Congratulations to Ghibeau Gerber on his selection to the Leinster Boys U13 squad to play in the Welsh District Championships next week in Wales.

Also a well done to Adam Coghlan on this selection to the Leinster Boys U15 squad to play in the Staffordshire Cricket Youth Festival, also next week.

Congratulations to Aisling Gill and Alison Smith on their selection to the Leinster U15 squad, who will travel to Malvern College for the Colwall Cricket Festival in early August. Well done girls.

Summer Hardware! (08/07/08)

The first bit of silverware for the village for this season was won by the Boys U15's - they won the Gerry Duffy Twenty 20 Cup in Leinster CC at the weekend.

They easily beat Balbriggan by over 120 runs in the semi final. Captain Champers scored the runs and took the wickets along with big Al. Team fielding was brilliant.

In the final they beat the "red hot favourites" Merrion by 8 wickets and again the skipper did the job with bat and ball, along with a nice "not out" knock from Sheedz ensured an easy win in the end. The fielding was excellent by all accounts.

Well done to all the lads on a great team effort and a well done to Jimmy Henry the coach (a first for Jimmy in Ireland).

Big result for our U11 Boys (02/07/08)

The U11A team beat Merrion U11A in the quarter final of the cup last Sunday. They won by 6 wickets. Well done lads.

The U12s boys team are jetting off to Copenhagen for the Danish U12 Club Cricket Festival which takes place at Svanholm Cricket Club from Thursday 3rd July until Sunday 6th July. Good luck to all the boys, parents and families travelling.

Well done on being selected to the U13 North Leinster side for their game against South Leinster U13s in Malahide on Monday 7th July (starting 1pm) - Alison Smith, Emer Treacy, Sorcha O'Carolan-Murphy and Adine Gerber.

Congratulations to Aisling Gill, Clara Pryor and Alison Smith who have been selected to play for North Leinster U15s against South Leinster at Malahide on Monday 30th June.

Well done to Adam Coghlan and Ryan Sheady who made the Leinster Boys U15 squad. Congratulations and good luck in your matches next week.

A well done and congratulations to Barbara McDonald, Clare Shillington, Hazel Keegan, Eimear Gill and Marianne Herbert on their selection to play for North Leinster senior Interprovincial match v South Leinster this Sunday 22nd. Match is in Pembroke CC at 1pm. All support welcome.

A big congratulations also to some of our under age girls who were also selected to the North Leinster and Leinster Interprovincial sides. (Not sure of all the names, but if someone could let me know I'll print them up!)

And again congratulations to Shane Getkate on his selection to the U17 Irish squad to compete in the ICC Europe Tournament in Belfast in July. Shane is currently attending the Warwickshire Academy.

Many thanks to everyone who supported and took part in our car treasure hunt last Friday. Funds were raised from the treasure hunt entries and the BBQ afterwards. Thanks also to Adele and Damian who managed to produce an enjoyable evenings fun with some great clues to keep us baffled and amused.

Winning team was lead by Phil Markey and in close second the team of John Byrne.
